Mauricio Pochettino could reportedly take over at French club OGC Nice and supposedly, his first transfer target will be Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris – but surely, if Pochettino tries to sign Lloris, he will get another Daniel Levy pie.
Pochettino spent more than five years at Tottenham as manager, winning 159 of his 293 games in charge. But in November 2019, the Argentine was sacked despite the working bond the two had built up. Levy was ruthless.
The Spurs icon has since gone on to manage former side PSG, winning Ligue 1. But he struggled as manager of the French club, and remains out of work after being replaced by Christopher Galtier in the summer. Nice are keen.
Indeed, reports state that he could replace under-fire Lucien Favre. Despite Nice making big signings in the form of Ross Barkley, Kasper Schmeichel and Aaron Ramsey – they have won just three of their 12 league and cup fixtures.

With Pochettino being linked, a report from French outlet Media Foot said this week that Lloris would be his no.1 target if he did join Nice. But Lloris is bang in form and if Pochettino did move, surely any offer would be rejected?
If Pochettino tries to sign Tottenham captain Lloris he will get Levy pie
Of course, Lloris is a former Nice player. He clocked up 76 appearances for the French side before joining Lyon. In recent months, Lloris has even been linked with a return. But the French skipper has since signed a deal until 2024.
So, firstly, Spurs have time on their side. They are under no pressure to sell the 35-year-old. Secondly, Lloris will hardly look to leave the club at this moment. He is producing some of the best form he ever has done in a Spurs shirt.
With Antonio Conte in charge, Spurs are the closest they have ever been to ending their trophy voodoo. Levy and Conte will not want to lose Lloris, and Lloris will not want to go. Pochettino will surely be rejected, once again, by Levy.
