Reported Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic has been one of the best goalscorers in Europe this season, and the 21-year-old has now equalled a record set by Cristiano Ronaldo.
As per Gazzetta dello Sport, the striker’s goal for AFC Fiorentina against Sassuolo was Vlahovic’s 33rd Serie A goal of the calendar year, equalling a record set by Ronaldo during his time with Juventus.
The attacker, who both Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici reportedly want to bring to Tottenham according to the Sun, has been in sensational form this season for La Viola, with Vlahovic’s goal today his 16th of the season for Fiorentina.
With one more Serie A game left this year, Vlahovic could make Italian football history if he can find the back of the net in Fiorentina’s clash with Hellas Verona on Wednesday, which will break Ronaldo’s record.
The striker will no doubt be one of the most sought after players in 2022. Vlahovic has rejected a new contract with the Tuscan club, and many clubs around Europe are eyeing a move for the youngster.
As well as Spurs, Manchester City and Arsenal have been linked with Vlahovic, as have Ronaldo’s former club Juventus, who are in need of a striker in the New Year.
Indeed, Tottenham face a battle to sign the Serbian international, and fans on social media are begging the club to sign Vlahovic after equalling Ronaldo’s Serie A record this weekend.
