Kaveh Solhekol suggested on the Transfer Show on Sky Sports (03/08/21 at 7:10 pm) that some Tottenham players have ‘some sympathy’ for Harry Kane.
But the Sky journalist did point out that other people at the club are ‘bemused’ by Kane missing pre-season training.
The England captain was due back on Monday, but as he tries to seemingly force a move to Manchester City, a certain Daniel Levy isn’t budging.
Solhekol shared how there is a sense of acceptance from the Spurs players towards Kane’s current situation.
“Spurs, at the moment, are keeping a dignified silence,” said Solhekol. “We have been doing at best to speak to people at the club, people who are in tune with what people at the club are thinking.
“I think some people at Spurs, some of the players actually have some sympathy for Harry Kane because some players have been in that situation.
“They can understand that he is such a great player and he’s such a world-class talent that he wants to win trophies. Players accept that.
“Other people at the club are bemused by what he is doing because it is so out of character and some people feel he has overplayed his hand. They don’t understand why he is doing what he is doing.”

Levy does have to look at himself in the mirror and ask how has he allowed the club to stagnate and fall since reaching the Champions League final?
Many would question whether Mauricio Pochettino got the backing he deserved for the work he was doing and whether Levy was wrong to sack him.
In truth, that was the first real period that Pochettino was having problems at Spurs, yet rather than stick by him, he was let go.
Jose Mourinho was a risk and one that backfired. But it didn’t help matters when Levy took several months just to find his replacement.
