Reported Newcastle United target Lloyd Kelly has suggested to The Daily Echo that he is not planning to leave Bournemouth anytime soon.
Kelly, linked with a move to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle, has said that he hopes to play for England by doing well for Bournemouth.
90min reported this week that new Newcastle manager Howe wants to bring the 23-year-old defender to St. James’ Park in the January transfer window.
Howe worked with the English youngster when he was a manager at Bournemouth.
What Lloyd Kelly has said
Kelly told The Daily Echo about playing for England: “That’s something that I always have in my mind.
“Obviously coming up through the under-20s and under-21s and looking over the past 18 months or so, you can see that pathway into the senior squad. And it’s something that I’m working towards.
“Of course, you never know what can happen and if that happens or not, but it’s something I will always be trying to pursue.
“That starts from taking each game by game, keep improving from now until the end of the season and hopefully next season, when we get into the Premier League, that gives me another pathway to push into that.”

Blow for Eddie Howe?
Kelly’s comments suggest that he is not planning to leave Bournemouth in January or even in the summer of 2022.
The defender is clearly looking to help Bournemouth get back to the Premier League and then an earn an England call-up.
This is a blow for Newcastle boss Howe.
For now.

Because we know how unpredictable football is.
You just never know what could happen during transfer windows.
In our view, Bournemouth are unlikely to sell Kelly in the January transfer window.
The Cherries are two points clear at the top of the Championship table at the moment.
Kelly has scored one goal in 17 Championship appearances for Bournemouth so far this season.
