Newcastle United are interested in signing Nathan Ake from Manchester City, according to 90min.

90min are reporting that Newcastle manager Eddie Howe wants to bring Ake to St. James’ Park.
Howe was recently appointed as the new Newcastle manager.
Ake played under the Englishman at Bournemouth.
Howe also reportedly wants to sign current Bournemouth players Lloyd Kelly and Jefferson Lerma.
Nathan Ake would be great for Newcastle
We know that Newcastle are defensively weak.
The Magpies are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with just five points from 11 matches.
Newcastle have conceded 24 goals already in the league this season.
Ake is a Netherlands international who did well at Bournemouth.
The defender – who earns £92,308 per week as salary, according to Spotrac – has struggled for playing time at defending Premier League champions.
The defender has made three appearances in the Premier League so far this season and made nine starts in the league last season.
The 26-year-old could well be tempted to move to Newcastle and get regular playing time.
Liverpool central defender Virgil van Dijk plays with Ake for the Netherlands national football team.
Van Dijk told Sky Sports in October 2021 that Ake is “underrated”.
