Tottenham welcomed a legend of the modern game this week as Alessandro Del Piero visited Hotspur Way.
The Italian and Juventus legend is one of the most iconic names in football in the 21st century. With Del Piero winning the 2006 FIFA World Cup for the Azzurri and remaining the Turin giants all-time leading goalscorer.
And this week, Del Piero made a visit to north London to Tottenham’s training ground to visit the club and to reunite with Antonio Conte. The duo played together for Juventus, with the Spurs boss also managing the striker in the 2011/12 season.
With Del Piero such a big name in football, reaction to Tottenham’s photo of the duo together on the club’s official Twitter account was big. With Spurs supporters buzzing to see the pair together.
Tottenham this week face NS Mura in the UEFA Europa Conference League. With a win putting Conte’s side in a strong position to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
And the visit from the Italian legend will no doubt have inspired both young players at the club as well as older heads in the squad.
