Graham Potter has claimed that Brighton are aware that the club selling Arsenal target, Yves Bissouma, would help improve the side, as he told his press conference.
The Premier League boss stated that you can ‘never say never’ in selling Bissouma, who impressed during his side’s FA Cup defeat to Tottenham on Saturday.
Even though the Seagulls suffered a 3-1 defeat, and were 2-0 down in the first half, the 25-year-old gave his side hope by driving through Spurs’ defence and getting on the scoresheet.
Nonetheless, Arsenal have been long-admirers of the hard-hitting midfielder and he is a player that would work wonders in north London if the club ever got their hands on his talents.
There were suggestions during the January transfer window that Brighton were seemingly listening to offers for their player – he has 18-months left on his current deal.
But Bissouma stayed put and this is what Potter had to say about his star man in the middle of the park.
On Brighton players not taking people on like Bissouma does: “Everyone has their own attributes,” said Potter. “Yves has got his. He has that ability to drive away from people, which is what makes him the player that he is.
“As a coach, you can’t expect to have 11 Yves Bissouma’s. You have to appreciate everybody’s quality and work with that.
“There is always speculation around good players. You have to deal with that. As a club, we are quite strong. We don’t have to sell anybody.
“But we also know that selling players helps us improve and develop as a club. It isn’t never say never. Importantly, Yves is with us and he is enjoying his football. Whilst he is doing that, it’s great for us and good for him.”

Last summer, it was well-documented that Granit Xhaka was going to head to Roma, but for one reason or another, a deal didn’t happen.
Instead, the marmite-like figure signed a new contract at the Emirates, although, that doesn’t mean he won’t leave this summer.
The reason for Xhaka signing a new deal could be because Arsenal are trying to maintain his value.
And, with new rumours surfacing that Roma might come back in for the former captain in the summer, then that further proves that Mikel Artet`a needs more defensive-minded legs in his middle of the park.
But if the Gunners push for Bissouma again, then they will have a serious fight on their hands because they won’t be the only side pushing for his talents.
