Having been on international duty this week, Darwin Nunez wasn’t among the Liverpool players in training on Thursday.

But his lookalike certainly was.

Liverpool are gearing up to face Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield tomorrow and one familiar player to Reds supporters returned to Kirkby looking, well, a little unfamiliar.

Kostas Tsimikas decided to unveil his new man-bun hairstyle and, in the process, looked like a shorter version of the £85 million Uruguay striker.

On a more serious note, Jurgen Klopp’s side have been ravaged by injury already this season, with a number of high-profile players either currently sidelined or have missed a bunch of games due to fitness problems.

One of those is Ibrahima Konate, Liverpool’s £36 million signing from 2021 [The Guardian].

The French defender had an excellent first season under Klopp but he picked up an injury during a pre-season friendly and hasn’t played for the Reds since.

However, RMC Sport reported in midweek, as covered by HITC Sport, that the big centre-back would be available versus the Seagulls tomorrow and, judging by his inclusion in training on Thursday, well that’s certainly plausible.

Despite being fit, Liverpool may elect to keep Konate in reserve tomorrow instead of rushing him back.

You would hope that Klopp won’t be desperately relying on a centre-back to see off Albion at Anfield and will probably use the tried-and-tested Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip in the middle of defence.
