Elijah Dixon-Bonner has been spotted in Liverpool first-team training ahead of their game against Southampton tomorrow.
Getting the call up
Dixon-Bonner has featured on two occasions for Liverpool’s first-team to date, but has spent most his time with the under-23’s this season.
However, he was snapped training alongside Diogo Jota at the AXA Training Centre yesterday.
That will be a boost for the midfielder, who has seen some of his younger teammates really push into the first-team this season.
Tyler Morton made his Champions League debut in midweek, while Harvey Elliott was a regular fixture in Jurgen Klopp’s side at the start of the season.
The progress that the two Liverpool youngsters have made should have encouraged Dixon-Bonner that the opportunity could be there for him if he impresses.
Now, it seems unlikely that Dixon-Bonner will be involved in any capacity against Southapmton at the weekend.

Liverpool’s injury problems have lessened in recent weeks, and Klopp’s side got through their game against Porto in midweek unscathed.
But his inclusion in first-team training should be a boost for the 20-year-old.
Dixon-Bonner is described on Liverpool’s official website as a ‘very creative’ player.
He signed for the club from Arsenal in 2015, and has progressed from there to be a prominent member of their under-23 squad now.
