The end of July is approaching, and West Ham are still yet to make any additions to their first-team – there are, however, irons in the fire.
Who are West Ham targeting?
The likes of Tammy Abraham, Matheus Pereira and, of course, Jesse Lingard have been mentioned as possible arrivals this summer.
Another player linked with a move to the London Stadium is Sam Johnstone, who shone in between the sticks for West Brom in 2020/21.
The 1-cap England international is said to be wanted by David Moyes, as Lukasz Fabianski turns 37 in April.
Arsenal are also interested in Johnstone, who earns £32,500-a-week.
However, the Hammers could have the upper hand, as it seems Declan Rice is good friends with the 28-year-old.
Declan Rice played golf with Sam Johnstone

Interestingly, Johnstone posted a photo earlier today of himself and Rice playing golf.
The image was uploaded to Instagram, and understandably, had many West Ham fans discussing whether this could mean he’s moving to east London.
In truth, it could be meaningless.
Rice and Johnstone have just spent all summer together with England in Gareth Southgate’s EURO 2020 camp.

Perhaps they merely organised a round of golf after the tournament.
Having said that, there’s plenty of time to chat during a round of gold, so there’s every chance Rice put a few thoughts in Johnstone’s mind.
