Philippe Coutinho wants to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool from Barcelona, according to Sport.
What’s the story?
Spanish publication Sport are reporting this morning that it is a dream of Coutinho to go back to Liverpool.
The Brazil international attacking midfielder did well during his time at Liverpool.
The 29-year-old, who can also play as a winger, earned the move to Barcelona in January 2018, but he has failed to meet the high expectations.
Barcelona want to send Coutinho out on loan this summer.
Leicester City are willing to sign the attacker on a season-long loan deal, but the Brazilian’s dream is to play for Liverpool again.
Could a Liverpool transfer happen?
According to Sport, the Liverpool door is closed for Coutinho.
The reason is that manager Jurgen Klopp has enough attacking players in the squad and is not looking to add the Brazilian to the mix.
That is a valid argument, but there is always room for improvement in any team.

Just look at Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side won the Premier League title with ease last season, but now they are reportedly willing to pay £100 million for an attacking midfielder (Jack Grealish).
Coutinho’s 2020-21 season was hampered by injuries, but at his best he is potentially world class.
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino called his Brazilian compatriot “phenomenal” who has “magical powers”, as quoted on FIFA in October 2020.
A loan deal for Coutinho might not be a bad idea for Liverpool.
