Jack Ross decided to loan Sunderland’s Jack Baldwin out when he was in charge.

The potential arrival of Phil Parkinson at Sunderland could be good news for Jack Baldwin.
Baldwin was sent out on loan by Sunderland at the start of the season, with Jack Ross deeming him to be surplus to requirements.
The centre-back was sent on a temporary spell to Salford City, after slipping down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland haven’t exactly missed Baldwin desperately this term, but at the time the decision was a controversial one.
Ross has now lost his job at Sunderland, with the Black Cats making an underwhelming start to the campaign.
Baldwin may well have a close eye on happenings back at his parent club and it has been suggested by the Daily Star that Parkinson is leading the way to be Sunderland’s next boss.
That could well be good news for Baldwin, if he wants to revive his Sunderland career, as Parkinson is a known admirer of him.

In 2018, Parkinson, who was then in charge Bolton Wanderers, tried to beat Sunderland to the signing of Baldwin, as reported by Sky Sports.
In the end Sunderland won the race to sign the ball-playing defender from Peterborough United.
But Parkinson may now get his chance to link up with the 25-year-old if he is appointed, when the defender’s loan expires, and that may offer some hope to Baldwin that his Sunderland career is not over just yet.
