Reported Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain target Vinicius Junior is rated highly his Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema, as quoted in Marca.

Diario Madridista reported in January 2021 that Liverpool, PSG and Arsenal are monitoring the Brazilian winger, who could be sold by Madrid in the summer of 2021 to fund a move for Kylian Mbappe, as covered by HITC Sport.

The 20-year-old winger scored twice against Liverpool in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie this week.

Madrid striker Benzema has raved about the winger and has described the Brazil international as “phenomenon”.

Marca quotes Benzema as saying about Vinicius Junior: “Vini is a very young player, but I believe in him because he has everything to succeed here.

“This is why I talk a lot with him on the pitch, sometimes it’s a little loud, but that is because of him. He can give more, because when he wants to be, he is a phenomenon.”

Liverpool or PSG transfer possible?

Vinicius Junior is only 20 years of age, and the Brazilian is starting to do well for Madrid.

According to WhoScored, the former Flamengo youngster has made 14 starts and 12 substitute appearances in La Liga for Madrid so far this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process.

The Brazil international has also made five starts and four substitute appearances in the Champions League for Zinedine Zidane’s side this campaign, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.

Madrid are unlikely to sell the winger if he does well in the final weeks of the season and helps the team win the La Liga and/or the Champions League, but if selling him means the possibility of bringing in Mbappe from PSG will increase, then one suspects that the Spanish and European giants will not think twice about it.
