Manchester City are always on the hunt for young talent , and they appear to be nearing a deal for Fluminense starlet Kayky.
The teenager was ‘destined’ for Liverpool according to the Daily Star, with the Reds tracking him for around a year in the hope of winning the race.
However, City have managed to swoop in for Kayky, with Fabrizio Romano reporting last month that a deal worth a total of €17million (£14.7million) is close.
Brexit rules mean Kayky can only join up with City in 2022, and even then, he is likely to spend time on loan at one of City’s sister clubs.
The 17-year-old winger plays down the right flank and cuts in on his right foot, emerging as one of Brazil’s top young talents.
He has yet to really break through with Fluminense, but City have spotted his talent early and wasted no time in getting him in.

Italian pundit Gianni Di Marzio has been speaking to TMW Radio about the world’s top youngsters, and picked out Kayky as well as Fluminense teammate and fellow City-bound talent Metinho as a particularly impressive duo.
Di Marzio suggested that Kayky is ‘phenomenal’ and ‘deadly’ when dribbling, even comparing him to Inter Milan’s £36million star Achraf Hakimi.
“I would start with Metinho and Kayky, both of Fluminense,” said Di Marzio. “They are two great players to come. Metinho is from Congo but his family moved when the boy was just one year old. I know that Manchester City is already on him, but other big names too. Kayky is a phenomenal winger, he looks like Hakimi from Inter. In one against one he is deadly. Between one or two years, I think they will explode among the greats,” he added.
