Manchester City have been at the front of the queue for Fluminense talent Kayky in recent weeks, and it seems that a deal is close.
Kayky, 17, has emerged as one of the top young talents in Brazilian football, and is a former Brazilian Under-16 international.
Primarily a winger, Kayky plays on the right flank and cuts in on his left foot, taking up dangerous positions in half-spaces.
There has been a real scrap for his signature. The Daily Star noted in January that Kayky looked ‘destined’ for a move to Liverpool.
The Reds had been tracking Kayky for 12 months in the hope of teeing up a deal, but they have seemingly been hijacked at the last minute.
Premier League rivals Manchester City were named as the new favourites in that report, and Fabrizio Romano has added more today.

Romano claims that City are on the verge of finalising a €17million (£15million) deal for Kayky, with almost half of that in add-ons.
Romano adds that Spanish clubs were pursuing Kayky, but it’s City who have won the race, and he will join their youth team in 2022 once a work permit is obtained.
Just days after Liverpool were beaten by City at Anfield, it now seems they’ve lost out to Pep Guardiola’s men for Kayky too.
