Peter Crouch is tipping Liverpool to get the better of Nottingham Forest when they return to Premier League action on February 22.

Arne Slot hasn’t managed a win over Forest during his time at Anfield, and the club’s recent record against them isn’t anything to shout about.

In fact, before that Nunez goal, Liverpool had gone 15 league matches at the City Ground without a win.

Pereira got off to a solid start with a 3-0 victory in Europe earlier this week, and that’s likely to give the squad a bit of early momentum heading into this fixture.

Despite Forest’s recent improvements, Crouch believes Liverpool will handle the fixture without much trouble.

On his podcast, he predicted a 3-1 win for Arne Slot’s side and took a moment to praise Milos Kerkez for his performance against Brighton in the FA Cup.

The 20-year-old left-back set up Curtis Jones for the opening goal, showing why Crouch believes it was his best display since joining from Bournemouth in January.

Crouch said: “I thought Kerkez probably had his best game in a red shirt as well [against Brighton]. So, and Wirtz looks good as well. I feel like things are getting brighter for Liverpool.”

Chris Sutton offers his prediction for Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool

Paul Merson is also backing Liverpool to get the job done, with the former Arsenal man sharing his scoreline pick on Friday.

But Crouch and Merson aren’t alone in expecting Liverpool to come through this busy spell with another win. Chris Sutton has predicted a 1-0 victory for the visitors.

Sutton added: “We know Pereira will try to keep things tight, but Forest’s biggest issue throughout this campaign has been scoring goals and I am not sure they will be able to get at Liverpool.

“Arne Slot’s side became the first team to win at the Stadium of Light when they edged out Sunderland in their last league game, and I can see a similar outcome here.”
