A good transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly about to get even better.

Tottenham have spent £60 million on Richarlison already this summer and have also signed Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma for a combined £25 million.

So far, Spurs’ Fabio Paratici is getting a hell of a lot of bang for his buck in the window – and now there’s a fifth deal in the pipeline.

At least, that’s what Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has tweeted out.

According to Romano, the Lilywhites are set to sign Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona for the 2022-23 campaign.

This is yet another bargain by the North Londoners.

Two of their four summer additions thus far have been Bosman signings – Perisic and Forster – and now they get to spare themselves even more money by only signing Lenglet on loan.

Yes, they’ll have to cough up a sizeable chunk for him eventually – well, providing he succeeds in the Premier League – but by doing that next summer at the earliest, Paratici has saved Antonio Conte a little more money to strengthen other areas for this window.

Lenglet is a centre-back and this could, in theory, spell the end of Spurs’ pursuit of a defender.

But with Davinson Sanchez linked away, Tottenham need to keep their existing central defenders and add Lenglet, otherwise the Frenchman is just a replacement and therefore the squad doesn’t grow in depth.
