Perry Groves wouldn’t be surprised if Ange Postecoglou re-united with Celtic’s Treble-winning star Kyogo Furuhashi at Tottenham Hotspur.

It was inevitable, wasn’t it?! As soon as Ange Postecoglou headed to Tottenham, a number of Celtic players, who thrived under his stewardship, were going to be backed to follow him to the Premier League.

After scoring 34 goals in all competitions last season, Kyogo’s name has popped up and Groves thinks he would be ‘perfect’ for Tottenham, as he told talkSPORT.

Harry Kane is the leading man at Hotspur Way, but reports have been breaking out on Tuesday that Bayern Munich want to sign him and they feel he wants to make the switch to Germany.

If that happens, then there will be an even greater need for Spurs to enhance their forward line because they would be losing a guy that scored 30 Premier League goals last term and is their all-time top-scorer.

Another argument Groves put on the table was how Kane doesn’t suit the way Postecoglou wants to play, in terms of his press, well, if you bring Kyogo in, who has won five trophies in two seasons, then he helps elevate that alongside the Englishman, as Groves shared his thoughts on the matter.

“With Kyogo Furuhashi, would it surprise you if he went to Spurs,” asked Groves. “He’s perfect for them.

“Also, if you are Ange Postecoglou, he wouldn’t come out and publicly say it, but Harry Kane doesn’t suit the way Postecoglou plays. Can you see Kane starting the press from the front?”

Tottenham have other areas of concern

Unless Kane leaves, then Tottenham’s forward line should be the last of their concern and they should, instead, focus on improving their midfield and defence.

It has been suggested that James Maddison is closing in on a move to north London, if that happens, then it will really add spice and attacking quality to a midfield that is way too defensive.

But the biggest area of concern is the backline, that’s where Postecoglou needs to do most of his work and spend most of his money.
