Tottenham Hotspur could reportedly be about to complete the signing of Leicester City playmaker James Maddison ahead of Newcastle United.
Tottenham Hotspur could beat Newcastle United to James Maddison signing
The Athletic are reporting this morning that Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a deal to sign Newcastle United target and Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison.
The report has claimed that Tottenham are prepared to pay £40 million plus add-ons for the England international playmaker, described as “an incredible player” by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in The Manchester Evening News in June 2019.
Newcastle are interested in Maddison, according to the report, but the Magpies “are focused on completing the signing of Sandro Tonali and other targets” at the money.
“Personal terms are not thought to be an issue”, according to the report.

Encouraging for Spurs fans
It seems that Tottenham Hotspur could soon wrap up the signing of James Maddison from Leicester City.
And that is hugely encouraging for Spurs fans.
Maddison is one of the best English playmakers around and knows the Premier League inside out.
The player could be the replacement for Christian Eriksen that Spurs have failed to find in recent years.
We believe that Maddison would make Tottenham better and more potent in attack.
Spurs would be a better and more creative team with Maddison in it.
