Newcastle United have been encouraged to try and sign Chelsea talent Conor Gallagher.
The England international established himself as a proper Premier League player following a brilliant loan at Crystal Palace last season.
However, it remains to be seen if the 22-year-old will receive the regular football he needs for his development at Chelsea during the 2022-23 campaign.
A midfielder is arguably what Newcastle need more than anything else this month, and there is speculation about the Magpies indeed bringing him to St James’s Park.
Eddie Howe has said that he won’t sign a midfielder just for the sake of it, stating that it has to be a player who’ll benefit the Reds in the long term, too.
And former Liverpool and Newcastle left-back Jose Enrique has taken to Twitter to suggest that the Chelsea youngster is absolutely ‘perfect’ for the Anfield outfit.
Palace have been linked with re-signing the player but so have Newcastle United.
Gallagher already knows Selhurst Park obviously, which gives the Eagles a bit of an advantage you would imagine.
However, Howe is building a very exciting project up in Tyneside and any player would absolutely love a chance to be part of that.
Plus, the Magpies have a lot more resources and financial clout, making them genuine threats.
