90Min website claim Newcastle and Crystal Palace have made enquiries over a move to sign Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher – after West Ham made a loan enquiry last week, which was rejected by Chelsea and Gallagher.
Four-time England international Gallagher, 22, starred on loan for Palace last season. He played 39 times in all competitions, despite being banned for two Premier League matches from facing parent club Chelsea.
In that time, Gallagher had a hand in 13 goals, scoring eight – all of which came in the Premier League. Now, he has returned to Chelsea and while he is happy to fight for a place in the side, that might change before the window shuts.

Gallagher, quite bizarrely, made his senior Chelsea debut against Everton on Saturday – coming on as a late sub. West Ham made an enquiry last week, but Chelsea do not want to loan him out, and Gallagher does not want to go on loan.
The latest report, then, may have more weight regarding a possible move. It states that West Ham, Palace and Newcastle have now made an enquiry, over a loan or a permanent deal. Chelsea might be more tempted to cash in.
Newcastle and Palace have made Gallagher enquiries
Gallagher is in that in-between area of being a player that would shine for a mid-table, top-half club, pushing for Europe. But at a Chelsea, or a top-four club, he is going to be on the fringes and that does not benefit him.
Understandably, a loan deal does not appeal. But, should West Ham or Newcastle be seriously interested in a permanent move, then Gallagher has got to be keen. It would give him the chance to join a top side, and start.
But it would not just be to Chelsea’s benefit, or with a view to improving his game time. It would be the start of a new chapter. Palace are a level below the other two, but a permanent move to Selhurst Park might appeal, too.
