Jose Enrique has claimed on his Instagram story ‘what a signing’ Yves Bissouma will be for Tottenham and he is someone who would be ‘perfect’ for Liverpool.
The Times have reported that Spurs have agreed on a deal in the region of £25 million for the Brighton midfielder.
With Spurs returning to Champions League football next season, Antonio Conte needs to bulk up his squad and it seems as though Bissouma will join Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster in north London next season.
Whilst both of those players arrived from Inter Milan and Southampton on free-transfers, Spurs are putting £25 million on the table for Bissouma, who has one-year left on his contract.
Nonetheless, with Spurs set to add another new face to their squad, Enrique suggested that he would have liked the player on Merseyside given the fee that is being paid for his talents.
He posted on his IG story in relation to Tottenham’s rumoured agreed deal for Bissouma: “If this is true what a signing for Tottenham,” said the former left-back. “For me, for the money we are talking about I believe (he) will be perfect for us (Liverpool).”
BISSOUMA GOOD ENOUGH TO START FOR TOTTENHAM
Spurs need players that are able to come in and challenge for first-team spots from the get-go.
And someone like Bissouma could argue that he can challenge, Pierre-Emerick Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur for first-team spots.
Conte prefers to play a midfield two in north London, as Bissouma has the energy, defensive awareness and aggression to fill that role.
But if Spurs can get this deal over the line, then their summer transfer window has got off to a strong start, so far.
