Luka Modric has applauded Tottenham on Instagram for the signing of Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
The Real Madrid midfielder, who recently won the Champions League final in Paris, reacted to the news in the comments section of Tottenham’s social media post.
It was a wordless message from Modric, but he did respond by posting the Croatian flag, the top arrow emoji, the flexed biceps emoji and the clapping emoji.
The former Spurs man has certainly given his thumps up to Perisic’s arrival and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t.
Added with that, former Spurs man Pascal Chimbonda also responded to Antonio Conte’s first signing of the summer by posting ‘doing a good job’ and ‘good signing’.
PERISIC IS A SMART PURCHASE BY TOTTENHAM
If Perisic can have the same impact on Tottenham as the one Modric had during his days at the club, then they will only progress under Antonio Conte even further.
This is a smart purchase by Spurs because the 33-year-old will provide experience, know-how and added value straightaway.
These are the types of signings Conte always pushes for and it’s what allows him to work his magic on teams, like he did at Chelsea and last season at Inter Milan.
It will be interesting to see how Conte uses Perisic and the impact he has on the rest of his teammates, as they make a return to Champions League football.
There are suggestions that Ryan Sessegnon will be mentored by Perisic during his time at the club, which would be of great benefit to the Englishman because the progression in his game has stagnated at Spurs.
Nonetheless, that’s one Tottenham signing through the door for the summer and their fans will no doubt be expecting a few more.
