According to the Daily Star, Liverpool have renewed their interest in Wolves winger Adama Traore, who could move for just £30m this summer.
The Reds are certainly in the market for a new attacking player, and while fans aren’t best pleased with the idea of signing Traore, there is reason to believe he’d be a great signing.
For a start, he’s an effective player to bring off of the bench due to his speed and strength, and it has to be said that he suits Liverpool’s quick counter-attacking style.

However, perhaps the greatest thing Traore would bring to Liverpool would be an edge over Manchester City.
Liverpool and City are the two great rivals of this era of Premier League football, there’s no doubt about it.
Their Champions League and league title clashes will go down in history, and sadly for Liverpool, City have previously managed to edge them out.
The 2018/19 Premier League season must’ve been a painful one as a Liverpool fan, the Reds finished second on 97 points having lost just one game all season, and there are no prizes for guessing who that loss was against.

Indeed, it was Manchester City who beat them, and if that result had gone any other way, the Merseyside outfit would have been crowned champions in 2019.
These title races have been so tight that they can be decided by the two games the clubs play against each other during the season, and it’s not insane to suggest that this may be the case again this term.
However, if City and Liverpool are again duking it out for the title, the Reds could have a secret weapon if they sign Traore.
If any player in the Premier League knows how to get the better of Pep Guardiola’s side, it’s the Spaniard.
If Guardiola’s City are superman, Traore is their kryptonite.
You only have to look at how he tore them apart on two occasions in 2019/20 – Traore scored and grabbed an assist on his way to a perfect 10 WhoScored rating at Molineux, while it was a similar story at the Etihad as he scored twice to sink the Cityzens.
Liverpool’s title push this season may be heavily dependent on how many points they pick up against City, and if Traore joins, they’ll have a great chance of causing Guardiola’s side some real damage.
