Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has opened up on the future of a key first team star this summer.
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City won their fourth premier league title in a row under the Spaniard’s stewardship as they pipped Arsenal to the title on the final day of the season.
Nevertheless, despite winning the Premier League title yet again, City are planning for the season ahead and the future of some of the club’s key players have been called into question.
HITC reported earlier this week that Kevin De Bruyne would see out the final year of his contract before making a decision on his future at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola unsure on Ederson’s City future
Speaking after the defeat to Celtic in pre-season, a match in which Joe Hart put in an outstanding performance, Guardiola was asked about the future of the Brazilian goalkeeper.
HITC have reported that the Saudi Pro League had made an offer to Ederson which would make him the best paid goalkeeper in the world.
“I don’t know if Éderson will stay,” Guardiola said as per Fabrizio Romano on X. “He has to make a decision.”
Ederson has multiple offers from the Saudi Pro League as City are understood to be preparing for life without the Brazilian shot-stopper.
We had reported that Saudi side Al-Ittihad have made an offer for the goalkeeper and Ederson is understood to be keen but negotiations remain ongoing between the two sides.
City’s contingency plans in case Ederson departs
City, as they so often have done over the years when a key player departs, have contingency plans in place if that eventuality occurs.
City handed Stefan Ortega a new and improved contract at the Etihad Stadium with HITC understanding there was the potential of the German becoming Guardiola’s number one.
As previously revealed by HITC, Manchester City have looked at Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson as an option. It is understood that Patterson is also admired by Liverpool.
Another name that City admire is former academy star James Trafford, who has since moved to Burnley and was the first choice goalkeeper under Vincent Kompany.
Newcastle were interested in a move for the Burnley goalkeeper Trafford but instead signed Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos.
