Pep Guardiola has said Man City will be unable to catch Arsenal in the Premier League title race, if they maintain their dominance which could lead them to exceeding 100 points this season.
While Mikel Arteta’s side did drop 2 points against Newcastle on Tuesday night, they still have a 5-point lead over Guardiola and Co.
If Arsenal manage to win all their remaining 21 games, they will finish the campaign at a historic 107 points.
For context, Man City set the all-time record for points in the Premier League with 100 in the 2017/2018 season.
And the way Arsenal have performed so far in the league, it would be silly not to back them to break records for fun.
Before the start of the season, the marriage of Pep Guardiola and Erling Haaland at Man City was tipped as the holy matrimony that would lead Man City to a three-peat.
However, City are chasing a Gunners side that have been simply unplayable, dropping just 7 points in the league up until now.
Pep Guardiola admits Man City will lose to Arsenal in title race if they exceed 100 points

Pep Guardiola has admitted that it will be impossible for Man City to catch Arsenal in the title race, who could be on course to exceed 100 points if they play the way they have until the end of the season.
“Arsenal have an average that they will do more than 100 points the way they have done so far. If they continue in that way, we will not catch them”, the £371,000-a-week tactician said, as quoted by MEN’s Simon Bajkowski.
Hard to disagree with Guardiola
With Man City already 5 points behind Arsenal, it would be highly unlikely that they leapfrog the league leaders in race where they exceed more than 100 points.
Even during the prime of the Pep Guardiola era at City, 100 points was the maximum they managed to put up in the league.
If Arsenal manage to usurp that tally; forget Man City, not many teams in history would be able to better the potentially one-of-one record.
