Pedro Porro has raved about Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Marcus Edwards, who he used to play with during his time at Sporting CP.

The Spurs academy product was described as ‘ridiculous’ by Rio Ferdinand while Leon Osman likened his run against his former side to a vintage Diego Maradona burst.

Pedro Porro, who is currently on loan at Tottenham used one word to sum up how talented Marcus Edwards is an interview with the Guardian.

The English winger, who has been rated as a £30 million player by Sporting boss Ruben Amorim himself reportedly held talks with Antonio Conte’s side over a return to his boyhood club.

Edwards is having an impressive season out in Portugal, registering as many as 10 goals and 11 assists across all competitions so far.

Pedro Porro, who joined Tottenham in a loan transfer on January deadline day has described Marcus Edwards as ‘extraordinary’ in his recent interview.

While that might be short and sweet, it sums up just how much of an impact the latter has had during his time in Lisbon.

In our view: Tottenham should pounce at the chance of signing him

While Dejan Kulusevski remains an outstanding talent and has the potential to become the best right winger in the world one day, he is just 22 years of age and is prone to off days. Furthermore, any and every player can do with some competition.

A question mark remains over whether Marcus Edwards, who clearly has an admirer of his in Pedro Porro would even fancy a transfer to Tottenham, especially as their Champions League hopes are uncertain.

But if the club can convince the highly-rated wideman about their project moving forward, his unpredictable dribbling, frightening directness and raw pace are traits that Spurs certainly need in their ranks.
