Paul Merson has said on SkySports News (1:38pm, December 4, 2021) that he would take Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn at Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
The former Arsenal and Villa star is a big fan of McGinn, and believes that he would be a good sighing for the Gunners.
Merson said on Sky Sports News (1:38pm, December 4, 2021) when asked if he would take McGinn at Arsenal: “Yeah, maybe. I would take him at Arsenal. Arsenal, you would take him. I don’t know how much he would cost.”
Would John McGinn make Arsenal better?
In our opinion, McGinn would make Arsenal better and would give manager Arteta another option in the middle of the park.
The Scotland international is a very dynamic midfielder who can impose himself in the middle of the park.
What is curious about McGinn is that he can protect the back-line as well as drive the team forward.

The 27-year-old has scored three goals and provided one assist in 13 Premier League games for Villa so far this season.
The Villa no. 7 scored three goals and provided five assists 37 Premier League games last season.
McGinn can play in a more advanced role, can operate as a defensive midfielder, or play box-to-box.

The 27-year-old, who earns £70,000-a-week at Villa (SalarySport), would make Arsenal a better team.
Now, we know that Arsenal have a strong midfield department.
Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and Albert Sambi Lokonga are quality footballers.
There is also a certain Ainsley Maitland-Niles as well in the Arsenal squad.
So, we do not expect Arsenal to make a bid for McGinn in the January transfer window.
Moreover, Villa would not sell the former Hibernian star.
