Paul Heyman was asked about the picture he took with Michael Jordan in the 1990s, and The Wiseman had a classic response.

Perhaps no man on the planet was more famous in the 1990s than Michael Jordan. The Chicago Bulls star was one of the biggest names in the world during his prime.

While everyone in the world may have done anything in their power to get a picture with His Airness, Paul Heyman was actually approached by Jordan himself.

During an appearance on Complex’s Sneaker Shopping, WWE legend Paul Heyman was asked about a famous picture he took in the 1990s with Michael Jordan.

Heyman suggested that it was Jordan who approached him for a picture, and despite not wanting to take a picture with him, he obliged out of respect for then-Chicago Bulls coach Phil Jackson.

“So I’m in the China Club in New York City, and Michael Jordan saw me. And he’s a Paul Heyman Guy. He wanted to take a picture with me, which I really didn’t want to do.

“Leave me alone. Go dribble somewhere else, right? After all, what is he in life, anyway? Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen’s backup, right? I said okay because I respect Phil Jackson.

“We took a picture. He has it up on his wall, and I get asked about it all the time because I didn’t even want a copy for myself.”

While he goes by his legal name, Paul Heyman is almost always in character when he is in front of a camera, including in the Sneaker Shopping episode above.

And when he is in character, Heyman is an aggressive, outspoken, and larger-than-life manager, which might explain why he is speaking the way he is.

Of course, there is always an element of truth to Heyman’s performance, so maybe he isn’t a big fan of Michael Jordan in reality.

But for his fame and impact, even in the 1990s, it is hard to believe that Jordan approached Heyman for a picture rather than the other way around.
