Julius Randle has become a central figure for the Minnesota Timberwolves’ current roster.

It did not take long for him to make an impact in his first season with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Both the coaching staff and front office have been impressed by what he has brought to the team.

The Timberwolves had no hesitation in offering Randle a three-year, $100 million contract extension, removing one of the top free agents from the market.

But what sets Randle apart? Former Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley recently shared his thoughts on that question.

Randle put up 18.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game last season, often playing as the second option behind Anthony Edwards.

Those are solid numbers on their own, but it was not until Beverley trained with him in the offseason that he realised just how skilled Randle really is.

“I was on the team with Julius Randle yesterday, and ‘oh my God’, he takes and makes some tough a__ shots. He’s really talented.

“His handle was way better than I thought it was. His fadeaway middie is legit, like he’s bouncy… he can make plays, he’s tough. I didn’t know he was that tough.”

While it may have been a surprise to Beverley, Timberwolves fans will no doubt be pleased to hear such strong praise for their forward.

Patrick Beverley shares his prediction for Julius Randle’s upcoming season

The Timberwolves fell short in the Western Conference Finals last season, losing out to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

One reason for that was Randle’s drop in output against OKC, where he averaged 17.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.

Beverley thinks Randle is ready to bounce back and expects a big year from him in 2025-26.

“When you play with somebody on the same team, y’all trying to get a win or whatever, you see little s___ within a game,” Beverley said on his podcast.

“Take the overs on him, he’s about to have a real good season.”
