Former Palermo director Rino Foschi would not be surprised if Juventus forward Paulo Dybala joins Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, speaking to AreaNapoli.
Fabio Paratici, Spurs’ managing director, has already signed the Argentine international once before.
Back in 2015, when the name Dusan Vlahovic meant absolutely nothing to anybody in Turin, Paratici’s Juventus invested £23 million in Serie A’s baby-faced golden boy.
Seven years later – with Juventus confirming that Dybala will leave the Italian giants on a free transfer in July – a reunion appears to be on the cards.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham are one of the frontrunners for Dybala’s signature.
Not that Foschi is surprised to see Paratici come calling again for a man who’s been relegated to the role of Robin by Vlahovic’s barnstorming Batman in Turin.
Is Paulo Dybala heading to Tottenham?
“To understand Dybala ‘s future, we must start from the beginning,” Foschi explains.
“When I was at Palermo, I was one step away from selling him to Napoli in exchange for Jorginho, plus 20 million euros. Then I had an offer of 15 million euros from Piero Ausilio (Inter Milan director.).
“Finally, Juve arrived with Paratici, who offered 30 million cash. (Juventus CEO) Marotta considered the fee excessive, while Paratici wanted him at all costs.
“I would not rule out Tottenham (signing Dybala this summer). Given how crazy Paratici is about the Argentine.”

Dybala is reportedly on the radars of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Inter Milan too. Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the reigning Serie A champions are hoping to raise funds for his arrival via the sale of Alexis Sanchez.

“He’s a world-class player,” says former Brazil international Roberto Carlos, tipping Dybala to follow in his footsteps at the Santiago Bernabau.
“He (could play for) top clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona. You don’t know what’s going through his head but he’s a great player. For someone like him, the doors are always open.”
