Tottenham Hotspur managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, has promised Ilaix Moriba a place in the starting lineup at Spurs if he joins from Barcelona, according to AS.
What’s the story?
Premier League club Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Moriba from Barcelona before the summer transfer window closes on Tuesday.
The North London club’s sporting director Paratici has reportedly promised the 18-year-old central midfielder that he will start in the first team under head coach Nuno.
Paratici has been following the youngster for years.
Tottenham will also pay the teenager a ‘large salary’, according to the report.
Spurs are willing to meet Barcelona’s demands regarding a transfer fee and are optimistic of getting a deal done before deadline day.

Could a Tottenham transfer happen?
Now, it might seem quite bold to promise an 18-year-old midfielder a place in the starting lineup during transfer negotiations.
However, if you consider what has been happening at Spurs in recent times, then you would understand why it is not as audacious.

Moussa Sissoko has left for Watford, and Tanguy Ndombele is nowhere near the first team under Nuno and reportedly wants to leave.
Harry Winks struggled to play regularly for Spurs last season and will have to work extremely hard to play week in and week out this campaign.
There is space in Nuno’s midfield, and Moriba could take it, if he joins.
