Tottenham Hotspur head coach Nuno has told Football.London that Tanguy Ndombele will not play against Watford today.
Spurs will take on Watford at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League in a few hours’ time.
Nuno has said that midfielder Ndombele will not be included in the matchday squad.
The Tottenham boss told Football.London about the Frenchman: “He’s not been an option. Nothing has changed really.”
Tottenham Hotspur exit for Tanguy Ndombele?
Ndombele did not play in any pre-season friendly match for Tottenham and has not featured in any of the competitive games either so far this campaign.
The Telegraph reported last week that the 24-year-old France international midfielder has told Spurs that he wants to leave.
The summer transfer window closes on Tuesday, so time is running out for the former Lyon star to find a new club.
The problem that Spurs will face in offloading Ndombele this summer is his wage and the transfer fee potentially involved.
According to The Athletic, Tottenham paid Lyon £55 million two years ago for Ndombele.
Spurs will surely not be willing to sell the midfielder on the cheap.
The 24-year-old also reportedly earns £200,000 per week as salary.
You should not be surprised if Ndombele does not leave and stays at Tottenham beyond deadline day.
