Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing Adama Traore and Tottenham’s interest in the winger.
It’s long been known that Spurs are very keen on Traore, but according to Gold, Fabio Paratici is borderline obsessed with the Spaniard.
Indeed, Gold says that he was watching Paratici from the press box at the weekend ahead of Spurs’ game against Wolves, and he claims that the Italian was transfixed by Traore during the warm-up.
Gold then suggested that a move for the Wolves ace could be on the cards if Bryan Gil leaves on loan – as is expected.
What’s been said?
Gold spoke about Traore.
“Some people are bewitched by him, and Fabio Paratici is bewitched by him, my goodness before that game against Wolves I was watching Paratici and he was just staring at his crosses in the warm-ups and I could just tell he was looking at him. He loves him, he absolutely loves him. He wanted to sign him at Juventus for a big fee I was told, so I would be stunned if that’s not an option they look at if Gil goes out of the door,” Gold said.
Curiosity
We can imagine that Paratici will want to sign Traore out of sheer curiosity if nothing else.
Traore is clearly a player that intrigues Paratici, and the idea of putting him at wing-back in an Antonio Conte team may just be too alluring for him to not at least give it a go.
Traore is reportedly available for just £10m this summer, so this wouldn’t be the most expensive gamble, and while Premier League footballers aren’t toys, there’s something to say about Paratici wanting to play around with Traore and how he could fit into this system.
The Spaniard is one of the most unique footballers around, and we can understand why the Spurs chief is so transfixed by the Wolves ace.
