Wolves are willing to sell Adama Traore for just £10 million this summer, according to The Athletic, six months after Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur were willing to pay twice as much.
Just two years ago, some were suggesting that it would take a bid in the region of £80 million to convince Wolverhampton Wanderers to cash in on football’s very own Roadrunner. You can bid an emphatic ‘meep meep’ to Wolves’ chances of commanding such a colossal fee for Traore these days.
With just one year left on his contract, the winger’s price-tag has nosedived as quickly as his reputation.
It feels certainly like lightyears since Jurgen Klopp was describing Traore as an ‘unbelievable‘ talent. Or, for that matter, since the Mali international was tearing a hole through Manchester City on their hallowed Etihad Stadium turf.
Wolves open to selling Adama Traore for just £10 million
Traore, despite being available for a dramatically reduced transfer fee, finds himself stuck in limbo. Wolves want to sell. The problem is, it seems no one wants to buy.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham were willing to pay £20 million for Traore as recently as January. Now, on the back of the most forgettable of loan spells at Barcelona, Spurs are looking elsewhere. Djed Spence looks set to fill the right-wing back role in Antonio Conte’s 3-4-2-1 formation instead.
It is no secret, meanwhile, that Victor Orta is a huge fan of a player he knows from his time at Middlesbrough. But Leeds United, like Tottenham, are prioritising other options. Everton, meanwhile, would rather sign Traore’s Wolves team-mate Morgan Gibbs-White, per The Athletic.
As things stand, it feels increasingly likely that Traore will stay at Molineux, potentially seeing out the final 12 months of his contract before leaving on a free. Chiquinho’s ACL injury certainly opens the door for a sensational return to first-team duties under Bruno Lage.
“I don’t have any problem with him,” Lage told the Birmingham Mail in May, offering one of football’s most puzzling enigmas an olive branch. “He’s a good professional. There are a lot of things in question and we need to understand what is best for the club and what is best for the player.
“If he starts the season with us, it’s one more player. He would need to work hard and I am here to help him to be better.”
