Paolo Di Canio has said that Brighton & Hove Albion boss Roberto De Zerbi should succeed Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager in the future.
The Italian legend told Tuttosport, as the Seagulls tactician continues to make waves in the Premier League for arguably having elevated his side after Graham Potter’s departure.

Now, Paolo Di Canio has gone on to explain why Roberto De Zerbi would be the perfect fit to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool one day.
Di Canio tips De Zerbi to succeed Klopp as Liverpool manager
Described as a ‘unique’ coach by England manager Gareth Southgate, the former Sassuolo man has managed to make Brighton one of the most exciting teams to watch in England, much like under Potter, but by ensuring that they get the ball in the back of the net much more frequently.
The fact that De Zerbi’s men are 7 points off top four and that too with three games in hand reflects the standard of the job that he has done at the Amex Stadium so far.
Paolo Di Canio, who has clearly been impressed by the work Roberto De Zerbi has done at Brighton has tipped him to come in for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool boss one day.
“For the type of game he develops, he could be Klopp’s possible heir to Liverpool in the future”, he said.
De Zerbi could be out of reach for the Reds
While Paolo Di Canio is right in saying that as Roberto De Zerbi has married a possession-dominant style with counter-attacking principles, he would be well suited to succeed Jurgen Klopp, the question is whether he would even accept the Liverpool job.
The Italian is one of the most sought-after up-and-coming coaches in Europe, with Tottenham reportedly eyeing him as a replacement for Antonio Conte within his debut campaign in the English top-flight.
With no shortage of options at his disposal, joining a club that seem unambitious in the transfer market and have failed to oversee a rebuild could prompt De Zerbi to look elsewhere.
