Crystal Palace have now joined Tottenham in the race to sign Chelsea target Adama Bojang this summer.

That is according to a story from the Daily Mail.

Bojang is currently starring for The Gambia at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, and he showed on Monday exactly why the likes of Crystal Palace, Tottenham and Chelsea are keen to sign him.

What’s the story?

Well, the 18-year-old wonderkid scored after just 20 seconds on Monday as The Gambia defeated Honduras 2-1 in their first Under-20 World Cup clash.

Bojang – who Napoli are monitoring too – also netted the second goal in the 84th minute to snatch the victory after Marco Aceituno had equalised for Honduras.

The Daily Mail believe Brighton, Inter Milan, RB Salzburg and Sporting CP are also interested in the teenage sensation.

Bojang – who has been nicknamed The Gambian Hurricane – would, however, struggle to obtain a work permit to play in England at this stage of his career, as also mentioned by the Daily Mail.

Therefore, if Crystal Palace, Tottenham or Chelsea are successful in their pursuit of the 6ft 3in prospect’s signature, it is highly likely that they would loan him out abroad.

Bojang would be wise to join Palace over Tottenham or Chelsea

While Selhurst Park arguably represents the least attractive destination on paper in comparison to sides like Inter Milan, Chelsea and Tottenham, we feel it would be a wise career move for Bojang to join Crystal Palace initially.

The south Londoners give plenty of opportunities to young talent, such as Michael Olise, Tyrick Mitchell, Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi, all of whom have now developed into Premier League stars.

Contrastingly, Chelsea often stockpile young talent without actually having a clear pathway into the first-team for them, while Tottenham have also stunted the careers of prospects such as Bryan Gil and Djed Spence in recent times.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as plenty of clubs across Europe attempt to sign Bojang.
