Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero has sent a message to supporters after losing 3-0 to Fulham on Saturday evening.

This time a week ago, Tottenham fans were on cloud nine.

A 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa left Tottenham in a great position to really push for a top-four finish in the final weeks of the season.

Spurs completely unravelled this weekend though, losing 3-0 away at Fulham in a torrid display.

Tottenham just never got going and conceded three soft goals as they fell flat at Craven Cottage.

This just wasn’t good enough from Tottenham in any sense and boss Ange Postecoglou has already made that very clear

Defender Cristian Romero has now taken to Instagram to share his response to Saturday’s defeat in West London.

The Argentinian is one of the real leaders of this Tottenham side and he has offered a message to supporters.

Romero noted that the performance was ‘disappointing and painful’ as Fulham ran riot.

Romero added that Tottenham will work to come back stronger and thanked supporters for driving the team on even in difficult times.

The Spurs ace feels that Tottenham are ‘all together always’, believing that the team spirit is certainly alive and well despite a difficult game.

“Disappointing and painful what we did yesterday. Now to work and come back more stronger.
we are all together always @spursofficial thank you fans for always supporting us,” said Romero.

Tottenham are still in a good position, especially as Aston Villa could only manage a 1-1 draw at West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

Spurs certainly can’t afford many more performances like this though, and it will be up to leaders like Romero to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Fulham are in fine form at the moment but the manner of the defeat was the most concerning factor and Tottenham must come back from the international break with a better level of performance – or they will miss out on a top-four finish.
