Celtic star Moussa Dembele has been linked with a move away from Parkhead.

James Tavernier of Rangers vies with Moussa Dembele of Celtic during the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Ranger at Celtic Park on December 30, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Former Celtic hero Packie Bonner believes that Celtic striker Moussa Dembele could leave the Glasgow club in the January transfer window.

Dembele has been linked with a move away from Celtic with a host of Premier League clubs reportedly vying for his signature.

The French forward hasn’t enjoyed a brilliant campaign unlike last season, but there is no shortage of his admirers.

Moussa Dembele of Celtic is seen during a training session at Lennoxtown on December 29, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Brighton are one of the Premier League clubs reported to be interested in Dembele, but club manager Chris Hughton has confirmed that there hasn’t been any discussion between the two clubs.

Bonner believes that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers will be very active in the January transfer window, with new additions being expected as well as a few departures.

The 57-year-old club hero feels that Celtic fans might have seen the last of Dembele, but he is confident that the Bhoys will demand a high transfer fee for the exciting young striker.

Moussa Dembele of Celtic arrives at the stadium prior to the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Ranger at Celtic Park on December 30, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“You have to say it looked like he’s away. It was a strange walk off when he was subbed on Saturday. There’s been a lot of talk about his future and Celtic could get a lot of money,” said Bonner, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“They have to see what is the best for the club. Do they want the cash in the bank? You still want to see quality players at the club and while he might not have been at his best against Rangers, he’s shown in the last 18 months he is in that category.

“He might want to go as well and try his luck elsewhere, but one thing for sure is Celtic will ensure they are happy with any deal.”

Rodgers will be looking to keep hold of his top players, but Celtic could let him go if they receive a very good offer.
