It’s been a whirlwind week to follow West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies kicked off the week in the worst possible way, losing 2-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage, and as you can imagine, a seventh game without a win led to questions about Slaven Bilic’s future.

Trevor Sinclair stated that the club should stick by their manager, but it seems as though the higher-ups at The Hawthorns aren’t planning on heeding that advice.

Indeed, the Mirror are reporting that Albion are eyeing up Lee Bowyer as their new manager.

While there is plenty of discussion to be had about whether or not appointing Bowyer to replace Bilic is the right decision, there is one potential huge positive to getting the Charlton Athletic boss in.

Karlan Grant could be the big winner if Bowyer is appointed.

The pair obviously worked with one another before at Charlton, and Grant’s 14 goals in 28 games under Bowyer in 2018/19 earnt him a move to the Premier League.

Grant had the best goalscoring spell of his career under Bowyer, and if he can rediscover that form, it will be a huge boost for the Baggies’ survival chances.

The potential new Albion boss hasn’t just worked wonders with Grant, he has proven time and time again that he can get the best out of his strikers, with Macauley Bonne and Lyle Taylor both hitting double figures last season, despite both starting fewer than 30 league games.

A consistent goalscorer is a key ingredient for any team looking to beat the drop in the Premier League, and while the Midlands outfit haven’t had someone capable of finding the net consistently this term, Grant could be that man if he is reunited with Bowyer.

The former Huddersfield striker already looked like a bargain due to the fact his fee is set to be paid in six instalments over the course of his contract.

However, if he starts banging them in at a similar rate he did under Bowyer a couple of seasons ago, he will look like an even bigger coup.

Grant may end up looking like one of Luke Dowling’s best signings at West Brom.
