Tottenham Hotspur are potentially about to begin their January transfer window in style.

According to The Daily Mail, there’s a strong possibility that Tottenham are set to bring Adama Traore of Wolverhampton Wanderers to North London.

In the very same report, it suggests that the Lilywhites are prepared to spend £20 million on permanently signing the Spanish international.

And if the 25-year-old does indeed secure a transfer to Spurs, well Nuno Espirito Santo will be sickened.

Advantage

Tottenham sacked the Portuguese manager in November following a dismal run of results.

However, this is a player who Nuno wanted to sign during the summer of 2021 but nothing materialised.

The reason why Nuno will absolutely hate to see Antonio Conte – his successor – sign the player he wanted is because the Italian manager has one distinct advantage.

As mentioned, a £20 million permanent transfer appears to be in the offing here.

But during Nuno’s Tottenham career, the best offer that the North Londoners could muster was a £5 million loan agreement for the Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker, which was ultimately rejected.

Remember, this is a player who the Portuguese absolutely loves, having brought him to Molineux in 2018 and spent three years moulding into a very exciting Premier League footballer.

So for Conte to be given advantages over this signing that Nuno didn’t have, well the sacked Tottenham manager can certainly feel aggrieved if this proposal happens.
