Tottenham could be lining up themselves to, unintentionally, provide Arsenal with a helping hand in the transfer market.

It’s been well-documented now that Arsenal are keen to land the ball-playing talents of Brighton’s, Ben White.

Well, it was reported last week that Brighton are keen to bring in Tottenham’s Joe Rodon in a possible loan deal.

If that happens then it might just open those extra doors for Arsenal to lure White towards their direction because it seems as though Everton have also joined the race for the Englishman.

From the perspective of the Spurs fans, they may not like the idea of Rodon leaving this summer, but he hardly featured towards the back end of last season.

The one positive for the Welshman is that a new face is in the Tottenham dugout in the name of Nuno Espirito Santo.

But if opts against using Rodon on a regular basis then it’s understandable for the ex-Swansea man to want to earn that game time that he craves.

And if Brighton can bring in that extra defender this summer then they might just accept the big-money offers that Arsenal are putting on the table for White’s talents.

Just like their North London rivals, it’s not rosy in the centre-back garden for Arsenal.

Gabriel recently suffered an injury, William Saliba looks to be on his way out again, so that leaves the likes of Rob Holding, Callum Chambers and Pablo Mari, to name a few, to start their Premier League opener against Brentford next month.

There’s no doubt that Mikel Arteta needs to refresh his backline for next season and signing White would be a signal of intent.

The one-time Leeds man has been at Euro 2020 this summer, but last season he showcased his ability to play in a back three, as well as in the middle of the park.

His ability to sense danger early, be calm on the ball, brute strength and versatility would be more than useful to the Gunners.

Plus, even with every Arsenal centre-back fit, someone like White would still walk into their backline, so bringing his talents to the Emirates this summer is a must.
