If rumours are believed, Nuno Espirito Santo wants a reunion with Adama Traore at Tottenham Hotspur.
It was Nuno who signed the 25-year-old for Wolves back in 2018 and AS in Spain have claimed that Tottenham are preparing a £34 million bid.
This has divided some Spurs fans because let’s face it, six goal involvements [three goals, three assists] in 41 games from all competitions last season isn’t much to write home about.
But going by what we saw from Nuno’s side in their win over Manchester City last weekend, somebody like Traore could be immense for the North Londoners.
Why is it exciting?
A move for Adama could be exciting because Tottenham looked a very effective counter-attacking side against Manchester City on Sunday.
And somebody with Adama’s speed could add a devastating element to Nuno’s strategy in this regard.
Remember, the Spain international is one of the Premier League’s quickest footballers and can reach a top speed of 37 kilometres per hour [Birmingham Live].
And it doesn’t take a genius to know that somebody with Adama’s speed and ball-carrying abilities could be a massive asset in Nuno’s new-look countering team.
There’s still the small matter of end product which needs to be ironed out, but this is something that can be improved, coached.
Yes £34 million seems steep but this could also be a fine piece of business by the Lilywhites.
