Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing a bid to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore.

Traore was tentatively linked with a move to Spurs at the start of August.

But according to AS in Spain, Nuno Espirito Santo and Daniel Levy are preparing a £34 million bid for the Portuguese coach’s former player.

It was Nuno who brought Traore to Wolves back in 2018 and a reunion could potentially be on the cards in North London.

Good signing?

In a word, no.

Everyone knows that the Lilywhites could do with a bit more cutting edge in attack, particularly if Harry Kane winds up leaving the club.

And there’s no doubt that Adama is a fine talent with bulging muscles and pace to burn but, at the end of the day, he scored three and set up three in 41 games under Nuno last term.

That doesn’t indicate that the Spain international has a lot of end product and let’s face it, Tottenham need that.

Steven Bergwijn demonstrated against Manchester City this past Sunday that you absolutely need to be able to score goals – and for all of Traore’s other qualities, putting the ball in the net, or setting them up, just isn’t his forte.

For £34 million, Tottenham and Nuno can do better.
