Leeds United are reportedly considering a move for Borussia Dortmund defender Raphael Guerreiro – and he would surely be the club’s best signing of the window, above that of Tyler Adams, Marc Roca and Brenden Aaronson.
Guerreiro, 28, has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Dortmund. Having spent the last six seasons at the German club, Portugal international Guerreiro has clocked up 71 goal involvements in 191 appearances.
A Euro 2016 winner, he is arguably one of Europe’s best left-sided defenders. There is no doubt that he is good enough to play for most of Europe’s biggest clubs. A Champions League quality player. Leeds are looking at him.
Victor Orta is said to be considering him. Junior Firpo is closing in on a return, but there are doubts over his form in a Leeds shirt anyway. Indeed, if there is a weakness in the Leeds side – it is certainly on the left side of defence.

Guerreiro would be Leeds best signing; better than Aaronson
Leeds have enjoyed a wonderful transfer window. Raking in initial fees of £90million for Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips, Leeds have spent that cash on eight new players – including Aaronson, Adams and Roca.
Aaronson has made a wonderful start. At £25million, he has given Leeds a proper no.10 and got the winner against Wolves. Roca and Adams have combined in midfield to see Leeds fans forget about the loss of Phillips.
Luis Sinisterra is an exciting signing and is back from a hamstring issue. Rasmus Kristensen is already a fan favourite. Darko Gyabi and Sonny Perkins have strengthened the 23’s, and Joel Robles adds depth in goal.
A good window. But Leeds still need a left-back. To sign Dortmund’s £10million signing Guerreiro would not only solve an issue. It would easily be their best signing of the summer, a real coup. Cristiano Ronaldo is a big fan.
He would fit Jesse Marsch’s attacking full-back system to a tee. But ultimately, he is a player way too good for Leeds and if they can convince him to move to Elland Road, it would eclipse the work they have already done.
