Miguel Azeez has been a talent who has long been on the radar for Arsenal fans. And this week saw his reputation within the club hit new heights.

The midfielder scored a stunning goal in the Gunners 4-1 pre-season win over Watford.

The teenager was a second-half substitute for Arsenal, and Azeez took the opportunity with both hands.

The youngster dazzled in the centre of the park. And Azeez gave the north London side a real spark in the final moments of the game at London Colney.

Indeed, his strike was his first goal for the Gunners at senior level, though it was unofficial.

Silky midfielders are beloved at the Gunners. And Azeez could well be the next to emerge from the Arsenal academy and make a name for himself in the first-team squad.

However, this season will unlikely be the year that the 19-year-old makes any sort of splash.

Arsenal must loan out Azeez this summer

Arsenal are light in central midfield, but steps have been taken to solve the issue.

Albert Sambi Lokonga joined earlier in the window. Whilst another player in the position will likely be signed if Granit Xhaka’s move to AS Roma is finalised.

Moreover, the competitions Arsenal are playing in this season will limit the number of academy players who feature for the Gunners.

With no European football for the first time in 26 years, the League Cup will realistically be Azeez’s only shot at first-team minutes.

This is why a loan move away from Arsenal would ideal for Azeez. Indeed, the England youth star is far too talented to be playing development football for a second year.

After all, these years between 18 and 21 are some of the most important for a football player trying to make a name for himself.

And for Azeez, the club must do everything they can to ensure that the Arsenal talent is playing first-team football next season.
