Brereton scored for Chile during the Copa America. And last night, the Championship star was again on the scoresheet as Martin Lasarte’s side beat Paraguay 2-0 in a massive result for the host nation.
From streamers begging the national team to call him up to scoring in a FIFA World Cup qualifier, it has been an insane few months for Brereton, who is now the new star name for Chile.
His goal, which opened the scoring against Paraguay, sent the home crowd and the entire nation into raptures. Chile secured a huge win in their quest to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
