Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso has confirmed the Serie A club has no plans to sell reported Liverpool and Arsenal target Dusan Vlahovic in the summer transfer window, via Football Italia.
La Viola supporters may need more convincing, of course.
This time last year, Commisso was insisting Federico Chiesa, Fiorentina’s talismanic winger, was going nowhere. By the time the window slammed shut, Chiesa was posing in the black-and-white stripes of Juventus – a Roberto Baggio saga for the modern era.
So, with Vlahovic attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal (Calciomercato), you can understand why the Stadio Artemio Franchi faithful would feel pessimistic regarding the future of the self-professed ‘next Zlatan Ibrahimovic’.
“Vlahovic impressed me from day one. Our desire is to keep him here at Fiorentina,” Commisso says of the Serbia international, who took his tally to 21 for the season in last weekend’s 2-0 victory over Lazio.
“We will finish the season and then we will have an answer. Our intention is to keep him.”

Vlahovic’s reluctance to extend his contract beyond summer 2023 is complicating matters, however (TMW).
An explosive number nine who has been compared to Erling Haaland for his fearsome blend of searing pace and brutal finishing, Vlahovic has also been linked with a potential £40 million move to the likes of Tottenham and West Ham, not to mention some of the biggest clubs in Italy and Spain.
