Dusan Vlahovic has played down speculation linking him with a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, telling Corriere dello Sport he is “very comfortable” at Fiorentina.
This will be music to the ears of every man, woman and child in Florence.
One year after Federico Chiesa defected to arch rivals Juventus, following in the footsteps of Roberto Baggio and sparking vicious protests outside the Stadio Artemio Franchi, reports have suggested Vlahovic could be following the jet-heeled winger out the door.
Calciomercato reports David Moyes’ striker search has led West Ham to the 21-year-old Serbia international.
Vlahovic has also been linked with Jose Mourinho’s Spurs after netting a 34-minute hat-trick against Benevento on Saturday (La Repubblica).
And the Fiorentina striker has now broken his silence. It is anyone’s guess, though, whether this is Vlahovic committing his future to the Serie A outfit or an attempt to stop speculation from snowballing.
“I have a contract with Fiorentina through 2023. I’m very comfortable in Florence, I’m loved. I arrived as a kid and now I’m a man,” he said.

“There will be a time and place to talk about an extension. At this moment I’m concentrating on the remaining 11 games. We want to get some points.”
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, talks over an extension have already taken place.
GDS claims the Hammers and Tottenham target has so far resisted Fiorentina’s attempts to tie him down to a new deal, despite being offered a substantial pay rise by owner Rocco Commisso.
