Speaking on his podcast, Phil Hay has been discussing Leeds United and their interest in Harry Winks.
The Yorkshire club have been keen on Winks for the longest time. Marcelo Bielsa was apparently offered the player last summer, but turned him down, and now, the Whites are again being linked with Winks.
However, according to Hay, there are other midfielders that Victor Orta would rather sign this summer as Leeds hunt for a Kalvin Phillips replacement.
What’s been said?
Hay spoke about Winks.
“I don’t think Winks is a bad player, but it looks to me like a signing that isn’t overly inspired, but we’ve complained about some of the transfers at Leeds being punts or taking a risk, so we’ll see whether or not this one grows legs, because we know they have looked at him before, but I think there are others on the list they would prefer,” Hay said.

Leeds are in the market for a few more fashionable midfielders such as Tyler Adams and Mohamed Camara, but they shouldn’t be turning their noses up at Winks.
Yes, he’s not been in the best form at Spurs as of late, but at the same time, he’s a proven Premier League player who has started in a Champions League final.
It’s easy to want a player from abroad rather than someone like Winks due to the element of unknown and potential for a pleasant surprise, but, at the same time, Winks would be a tried and tested option.
The midfielder isn’t Leeds’ top target, but, in our view, he should be higher on their shortlist.
